My commentary on life in an ever-increasingly urban society, from the perspective of someone who has lived on this earth much longer than myself.
Its the most basic form of entertainment we've had as human beings since the beginning of time. Our real life experiences, our musings, our own existences are always worth recounting, especially when told with a certain flair. Sometimes a story slightly bigger than the truth captivates us all; and for a moment we all feel like we were there, watching the unthinkable unfold.
When you add music to that story, you've got the foundation of human culture. Like minded people are drawn together on sounds so unifying, so guiding, so eloquent, that the stories become bigger than the truth - even if they are not.
The sounds of hill country have always had a grip on me, since I was a young kid. It makes sense thinking back on my Appalachian ancestors, and those before them from Ireland and Scotland. You can see the red in my beard...
Though the sounds have evolved (or devolved) slightly, We're still here telling stories, a constant ode to the past, an ode to humanity, and a hopeful nod to the future.
